Pilot grant programs

PICR offers a robust portfolio of internal grant programs designed to spark scientific innovation, support investigators, and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration. These include donor-supported junior investigator awards, innovative pilot grants, and joint funding initiatives with internal and external partners such as the Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute. One of the institute’s most competitive opportunities—the Robbers Cancer Research Endowment—provides pilot funding exclusively for junior faculty, with recipients selected through a rigorous peer-review process.

Together, these internal funding mechanisms help advance promising new ideas, build research capacity and strengthen the future of cancer discovery at Purdue.
