Cancer Research Day

Held each fall, the event brings together cancer-focused researchers from across campus for a day of scientific exchange, featuring a keynote address, trainee poster presentations and selected trainee talks. It serves as a platform for highlighting the next generation of cancer researchers and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Hammer Down Cancer
Every year, a series of athletic games connects the Boilermaker community’s love for sports and dedication to finding a cure for cancer. The Hammer Down Cancer games raise money for and awareness of the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research.
You can Hammer Down Cancer by sharing your game day pics using the #HammerDownCancer hashtag and tagging @PUCancerInst, and by supporting the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research’s continued impact.
5K Challenge
The PICR 5K Challenge is an annual run/walk event that raises vital funds for cancer research at Purdue. Open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, the event combines movement with mission, bringing together students, faculty and community members to support scientific discovery and honor those affected by cancer.

Purdue Day of Giving
Purdue Day of Giving is an annual 24-hour online-based fundraising event. On this day, Purdue alumni, friends, faculty, staff, retirees, students, parents, and fans are encouraged to give back to the university—and small donations made a big impact in helping Purdue transform lives and change the world.
