Seminar Series: Aradhana Venkatesan

Dr. Aradhana Venkatesan, professor in the Department of Abdominal Imaging department at MD Anderson, will be a speaker for the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research 2025-26 Seminar Series.

Title: Oncologic Imaging & Image-Guided Therapy: Current State of the Art & Future Directions

Diagnostic imaging is a critical component of contemporary precision medicine, driven by rapid advances in imaging technologies, probe development, and sophisticated analytic methods. These innovations are reshaping oncologic imaging, yet important unmet clinical needs remain. This seminar will highlight recent advances in the field, identify persistent gaps in oncologic imaging, and explore how emerging approaches — including novel image-guided therapy strategies, targeted treatments, and computational oncology methods — can help address these challenges. By outlining both current limitations and future opportunities, the seminar will underscore the central role of imaging sciences research in advancing radiology and precision medicine.

This event is hosted by Hector Gomez.
