PICR-SRF Seminar: Emily Dykhuizen
Targeting Chromatin Remodeling Complexes in Cancer
The PICR Society of Research Fellows will host a seminar titled “Targeting Chromatin Remodeling Complexes in Cancer” on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon ET in the Drug Discovery Building Lobby (DRUG).

This speaker is Emily Dykhuizen, a PICR member and professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology in Purdue’s College of Pharmacy. Her lab studies the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex as a therapeutic target in cancer by defining its subunit composition across cell types and identifying components critical for disease phenotypes. By dissecting the roles of key chromatin-interacting domains, including bromodomains, chromodomains and plant homeodomains, the lab uncovers new vulnerabilities and helps guide the development of targeted small-molecule inhibitors.
Coffee and snacks will be provided.
