PICR Journal Club

The Purdue Institute for Cancer Research (PICR) Journal Club is a weekly gathering driven by undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral trainees with the goal of deepening knowledge of oncology research, networking with peers and expanding analytical skills. Weekly presentations during the regular academic year will cover the necessary background, hypothesis, main findings, limitations and future directions of recently published cancer-related articles.

Alternatively, trainees may elect to use PICR Journal Club as an opportunity to present their own research to gain critical feedback from a larger scientific community. Journal club is moderated by faculty mentors who also provide career development strategies and didactic presentations of data analysis software.

Attendance is open to: undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral trainees of the PICR

This is a place where graduate students, postdocs and undergraduates can present either primary cancer biology-focused literature or their own lab projects to gain critical feedback. Students should send out papers the Wednesday before their presentation and come prepared with a PowerPoint presentation that covers the main questions, results, and main conclusions of the paper.

Pizza is provided.
