Community Partners

For decades, foundations, state and local organizations, and community partners have given generously to support groundbreaking research at the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research. Their generosity continues to drive discoveries that expand our understanding of cancer and push us closer to defeating the disease.

Walther Cancer Foundation

The Walther Cancer Foundation is dedicated to saving lives and offering hope to cancer patients and families by supporting cancer programs that expand the world’s scientific knowledge. This private Indianapolis-based foundation has invested millions in cancer-focused research, including more than $33 million in support to the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research since 2007.

Indiana Elks Association

Since 1948, The Indiana Elks Charities, Inc., has supported Purdue’s faculty with Innovative Grants funding. These grants help researchers pursue pioneering ideas that might not otherwise receive funding. Fighting cancer is the major state focus for the Indiana Elks, and more than 70 Indiana lodges raise money each year for cancer research in Indiana.

Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation

The Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation supports scientific research leading to a better understanding of and possible cure for multiple myeloma and related cancers. The foundation has given to the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research with the specific aim of fighting multiple myeloma.

Zeta Tau Alpha sorority

With breast cancer education and awareness as the national philanthropy project for Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA), Purdue’s local chapter hosts events and organizes fundraising efforts, such as their campus-renowned Big Man on Campus initiative. ZTA has made a lasting impact on research at PICR, raising critical funds, elevating visibility and honoring survivors.
