5K Challenge

Calling all runners, walkers, strollers and supporters:

Join us on April 18, 2026, to take your next giant leap at the 2026 5K Challenge!

The 18th annual 5K Challenge is a race experience on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus that brings together the Boilermaker community and beyond to support cancer research.

Since its start in 2008, the Challenge has had a powerful impact — raising more than $1 million to advance lifesaving science at the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research (PICR). The event brings real hope to survivors and their loved ones, proving that small steps lead to big change in the fight against cancer.

See you on April 18!

For those able to join us on the ground in West Lafayette, the event begins at 7:30 p.m., with the race itself kicking off at 8:00 p.m.

New virtual option for 2026:

Can’t join us in West Lafayette? No problem. Register as a virtual participant and complete the 5K on your own — from wherever you are — during race week. Every registration supports cancer research at Purdue.

Every step advances the fight against cancer.
