Edward Seto, professor and associate center director for basic sciences in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine at George Washington University, will be a speaker for the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research 2026–27 Seminar Series. The seminar will be hosted by Qingfei Zheng.

Research
The Seto Lab is devoted to obtaining a complete understanding of the functions, mechanisms of action, and regulation of histone deacteylases (HDACs), an enzyme that catalyze the removal of acetyl groups from the lysine residues of histones. These enzymes play a pivotal role in the regulation of gene transcription and are indispensable in numerous eukaryotic biological processes involving chromatin.
