PICR-SRF Workshop: Metabolomic Techniques and Applications in Cancer Research
Purdue Institute for Cancer Research – Society of Research Fellows Workshop
“Metabolomic Techniques and Applications in Cancer Research”

Bruce Cooper, associate scientific director of the Metabolite Profiling Facility (MPF)
Join Bruce Cooper for an in-depth workshop exploring the use of metabolomics in cancer research. Cooper is an analytical chemist specializing in chromatographic separation and mass spectral analysis of small molecules in biological systems. His laboratory employs gas and liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS) to analyze small molecules.
This workshop will cover key metabolomic techniques, from sample preparation and data acquisition to quantitative and non-targeted molecular analyses. Participants will also learn how metabolomic profiling can reveal biochemical alterations in cancer, aiding in biomarker discovery and mechanistic understanding.
Lunch and coffee will be provided
